Masoor dal is an integral part of a vegetarian diet, it is basically the split lentil without the skin exposing it’s orange color.Masoor contains 26% protein, and have the 3rd highest protein content by weight amoun the plant-based proteins ( after soy bean and hemp)
When we were growing up the name for these ‘red’ lentils was ‘ Quick Dhal’ , it was the Dhal you’d cook when time was a factor!My kids think these are magic beans – from red lentils they change color to yellow Dhal 🤣
And they still live up to their name … these patties are easy , quick and delicious!
